An annual tradition, Marysville’s Uptown Christmas Walk & Tree Lighting offers residents a fun-filled evening of holiday joy and magic. Held annually on the first Monday following Thanksgiving, the Uptown Christmas Walk has brought families together for generations. Visitors enjoy live reindeer, children's activities, dance troupes, carolers, and musical performers, costumed characters, horse-drawn carriage rides, door prizes, and even photos with Saint Nick himself at Santa's Village!
As dusk settles, the countdown begins as the switch is flipped on the giant Marysville Community Christmas Tree at Partners Park. And for those looking for holiday gift ideas, many Uptown merchants remain open throughout the evening, offering coffee, cookies, and special discounts.

Let the holiday spirit surround you this December with Merry on Main in historic Uptown Marysville! During the holiday season, Partners Park and the Memorial Health Pavilion are transformed into Santa’s Village, which features a giant 30-foot Christmas Tree, Santa’s House, festive music, and dazzling Christmas lights. And returning this year is the “iceless” ice rink! The simulated ice rink is open December 11 through January 2, 2022 and has a capacity of 80 skaters. Ice skates are required and are available to rent FREE of charge.
Frequently asked questions
What is “Iceless” Ice Skating?
Instead of using real ice, the rink is constructed using panels of synthetic (fake) ice. Synthetic ice consists of connected polymer plastic sheets that are treated with a special additive to reduce surface friction. Since its creation in the 1960s, synthetic ice has become a popular training tool for hockey players and figure skaters alike.
Are Ice Skates Required?
Yes, ice skates are required. A variety of youth and adult sizes are available at the rink. The use shoes, roller blades, and other footware on the rink is prohibited.
What if the Weather is Warm or Yucky?
Because the rink does not use real ice, it will not be impacted by temperatures that are above freezing. And because the rink is underneath the Memorial Health Pavilion at Partners Park, it will not be impacted by rain or snow!
How Big is the Rink?
The rink is 72’ x 40‘ - or 2,880 SF. The rink also has secure perimeter fencing and outdoor heaters.
Is the Rink Staffed?
Yes, the rink is staffed with CPR/First Aid trained and background checked employees during operating hours.
